How to upgrade from a previous release
ProjectTrack 2007 - Collaborative edition needs to be upgraded manually. The process is simple and fast.
To update the server side of ProjectTrack follow these steps:
- The installation program will preserve all your configuration and database information, but it is always a good idea to backup your existing ProjectTrack data and configuration files.
- Download the installation program.
- Map the network drive where ProjectTrack was originally installed. It is best to map the drive to the same drive letter used in the first installation.
- Make sure all ProjectTrack users are logged out.
- Execute the installation program.
- Ensure that the installation directory recommended by the installation program is the one where ProjectTrack is already installed.
- Finish the installation.
- Install any additional dictionaries. You can download them from here.
- Start ProjectTrack. If needed, it will update the database.
- You are done.
After updating the server, your users can upgrade their client application. The process is the same as for a new installation:
- Ensure that the client workstation has access to the directory where ProjectTrack is installed.
- Copy the file ProjectTrack.exe from the network drive to the client folder location.
- Copy the folder "Dictionaries" and its content into the client's ProjectTrack folder.
For new clients, execute the ClientInstall.exe application.
