- Ability to manually import contacts from MS Outlook at any time.

- All editions of ProjectTrack 2007 are 100% compatible with Microsoft Vista. All known problems have been fixed.
- New installation program, smarter and Vista-aware.
- Notes can be formatted with different fonts and colors.

- New update engine capable of doing automatic updates in Windows Vista.
- Ability to assign a user to a person/contact.
- We changed the way new users are assigned to resources. When a new user is created, the administrator can create a new resource or assign the new user to an existing one.

- When browsing for images and pictures, you can now see the selected picture before loading it.
- Speed up the Collaborative Edition by improving the way security settings are stored.

Error Fixes
- Hiding a client did not refresh the client tree.
- Hiding a project did not refresh the client tree.
- Error when entering a Work value without the integer part (i.e. .5 instead of 0.5)
- Error when renaming an Login ID and that login ID was already used.
- When ProjectTrack couldn't find the Messages.idt file and the user located it, the program did not save the new location, forcing the user to reset the location every time the program started.

New Features and Changes
- Ability to enter data from the main screen
Now you don’t need to double click a project or action item to edit it. You can now add and edit any items from the main screen.
Most of the grids are editable now. Only those grids that show assigned items, such as resources or assets are not.
- Show my items in ProjectTrack Today
ProjectTrack today can now show only the items associated to the user logged in.
You can turn this feature on and off in the “Project Track” today tab of the options dialog (Tools > Options)
- Show my items in grid views
Now grid views can also show only those items assigned or associated to the user logged in.
- New Dynamic Profiles
Projects are managed differently by different people and not everyone needs to keep track of all the items ProjectTrack offers. We added some standard profiles to the program.
Users can now select among three predefined profiles ( Enterprise, Professional and Personal), or create their own.
New Profile Wizard to help you decide what items you want to track in your projects.
- Automatic grouping when sorting a grid by a column
Following the way MS Outlook works, when the user clicks on a column, the grid will be grouped and then sorted by that column
- Visually grouping of columns
Users can now drag and drop columns at the top of the grid to group by that columns. Groups within groups are also allowed.
This option is also available by right-clicking an a column and select “Group By”
Groups can be cleared by dragging the grouping column out of the grid or by selecting the option “Clear Sort/Grouping” after right-clicking any column.
- Icon tool with captions
The new icon toolbar can show small and big icons with or without captions, to help new users getting use to the program
You can change the icon toolbar configuration by going to “View > Tool Bar”
- Modifications to the “Contacts” tab
Removed the grouping radio buttons at the left side of the window, since now they are not necessary.
When switching between the different views (Address Cards, Detailed Address Cards, Simple List, etc.) the program now saves the column configuration and allow users to select the visible columns for each view.
- Changed items labeled as “Resource” to “Asset”
- Changed items labeled as “People” to “Resource”
- Changed items labeled as “Client” to “Company”
- Resources and Contacts without a name, will display the name of the company when using the card view, just like Outlook.
- Users can now create Projects without assigning it to a company.
- Users can now create Action Items, Risks, Issues, etc. without assigning it to a Project.
- Improved Copy and Paste of items, while still allowing for Copy/Cut/Paste of text.
Changed to use Alt+C and Alt+V to copy and paste items, so Control+C and Control+V can be used to copy and paste text.
- Improvements in the export of documents
Changed the menu option "Export" to "Save as"
- Various database speed improvements
- Added a menu option under Help that links the program directly to the tutorials.
- Windows Vista compatibility
We are still working on ProjectTrack to make it 100% Vista compatible but we don’t expect to be done until after the summer. If you are using ProjectTrack under Vista, please report any errors so we can fix them as soon as possible.
ProjectTrack now saves its configuration files under the “Documents and Settings” folder to comply with Vista requirements.
Temporary files (i.e. when opening a document stored in the database) are now created in the user’s temp folder.

How to install the Collaborative Edition

The Collaborative Edition of ProjectTrack uses a network peer-to-peer model to allow more than one user access the database simultaneously. This means the following:
- All the users need to be connected to the same area network
- The network speed should be at least of 53 Mb. The program will behave too slowly in 10 Mb. networks.
- The database needs to be store in a network drive accessible to all the users.
- In order to access the database, each user will need to "map" the network drive where the database is stored.
To Install this edition, follow these steps:
- The ProjectTrack administrator needs to install the application in a network drive. That drive needs to be "mapped" before the installation starts.
- Start the installation program: PT2007CS.EXE.
- When the installation program asks for the folder where ProjectTrack will be installed, make sure to enter the location in the network drive where you want it to be (i.e. K:\ProjectTrack)
- Finish the installation and make sure you go over the First Run Wizard to initialize ProjectTrack's configuration.
- From another user's computer, make sure the user has access to the network folder where the application was installed.
- Open Explorer and go to the network folder where ProjectTrack is.
- Double click the application ClientInstall.Exe
- Follow the installation program directions.
How to Upgrade from a previous release
ProjectTrack 2007 - Collaborative edition needs to be upgraded manually, but don't worry, the process is very simple and quick.
To update the server side of ProjectTrack follow these steps:
- Just in case, backup your existing ProjectTrack data and configuration files. The installation program will preserver all you configuration and database information.
- Download the installation program. You already did!
- Execute the installation program making sure you have mapped the network drive where ProjectTrack was originally installed.
- Start ProjectTrack, so it can update the database.
- You are done
After you install the server, your users can upgrade their client application. The process is the same as for a new installation:
- Ensure the client workstation has access to the directory where ProjectTrack was installed.
- Copy the file ProjectTrack.exe from the network drive to the client folder location
For new clients, execute the ClientInstall.exe application
