What is ProjectTrack?

ProjectTrack is an application to track project evolution and documents. It is designed to help project managers with the day-to-day tasks of project management.

Any project management effort has two main phases: planning and execution.

During planning, a project plan is created. This is the main roadmap for a project.

ProjectTrack is designed for the execution phase of this plan. It organizes the multiple types of information that need to be gathered, maintained and reported during the life of the project.

During meetings, for example, new tasks (called Action Items in ProjectTrack) are normally discovered. These Action Items often cannot be added to the project plan, either because they are too small or because it is not a good practice. The project manager needs to assign these Action Items to a team member, keep track of them, inquire about their completion status and report to the client and sponsors.

ProjectTrack helps project managers, and other project team members, track and manage Action Items, Issues, Changes, Risks, Documents, etc.

Who should use ProjectTrack?

Anyone who juggles the details of a project.

There are big projects and small projects, but all of them have several things in common:

- Projects generate meetings and these meetings generate decisions, Action Items, Issues to resolve, Risks to avoid, etc.
- Even the best project plan will experience Changes during the life of the project. These Changes need to be documented and monitored.
- Every Project has Risks. Managing those Risks and having a contingency plan is crucial for a successful project.
- Projects generate Documentation which needs to be organized.

Regardless of the size of a project, ProjectTrack can help users maintain awareness of and manage all the details to help ensure the success of the project.
